The Chief Engineer or responsible vessel personnel must independently verify tank soundings, capacities, loading limits, transfer quantities, and available space against the vessel’s official sounding tables, load plan, and other approved vessel documentation before conducting any transfer, bunkering, loading, discharge, or other operation.
